About me – the Danish wildlife and macro photographer Anja Johansson.

Welcome to my little oasis : AJ Fotografi – yes that is AJ Photography in Danish. My name is Anja Johansson and I am based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I take pride in getting the best out of what I have or haven’t got – whether it is lack of light, subjects or not having the ideal equipment. I try my best not to let it limit me and take it as a challenge instead.

I find it very rewarding to get a nice photo where others (or even I) think there is nothing worth shooting for.

Photography is something I do as much for my own sake as for others. I have volunteered as a photographer in Africa and Denmark both for the sake of the adventure and in the hope of that some of my photographs can help locally and globally – no matter if it is by inducing a smile or by drawing attention to something bigger.

My photography heart beats especially for wild animals and interesting details of everyday objects – wildlife and macro is my main focus. I look for whatever I find beautiful, gripping or quirky or for motives that tell a story. Something to spark the imagination.
